Promises

Promises was written in 2019 by Joe L Barnes, Carrington Gaines, Keilla Alvarado, Lemuel Marin, Aaron Moses, and Dante Bowe as part of a songwriting camp conducted by Maverick City Music. This song reminds us of God's faithfulness even in the middle of the storms of life. In our current moment of turmoil, distress, and uncertainty, we can find rest and comfort as we sing of God's promise and keep his grace at the front of our minds.

Maverick City is a group that aims to centralize voices of musicians who are traditionally less highlighted in mainstream Christian music, including women and Black artists. The result is a collaborative writing process that brings together varied styles and perspectives for a fresh, inclusive, vibrant sound. I am excited to bring these voices to our congregation to enrich our worship and join with the broader church in unity and wholeness.
