Discerning Together

May 10, 2026    Ryan Rovito

In Acts 15, the early church faced its first major crisis: faithful believers deeply disagreed about what it meant to follow Jesus. Instead of dividing, they gathered, listened to testimony, searched the Scriptures, and discerned together until they could say, “It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us.” In this message, Pastor Ryan explores how the Jerusalem Council teaches the church today how to navigate disagreement without losing unity. As we prepare for communion, we reflect on three questions about inviting others into discernment, staying at the table when we disagree, and pursuing God’s kingdom rather than personal validation.
