Transforming into a New creation

We believe God is always at work, inviting people to draw closer to Him so they may experience the fullness of what it means to be truly human. Yet the Bible also teaches that we must be "born again." We must follow Christ into death—leaving behind the parts of us that once rejected God—and be born of the Holy Spirit as children who inherit the Kingdom of God, being built "on earth as it is in heaven." We are no longer who we once were; we are being transformed into a new creation.
Baptism is the adoption ceremony into the family of God. It is the starting line of a lifelong journey of faith.
Because of this, we believe baptism is for all people—of all ages and capacities. It is not reserved only for those who can speak clearly about their faith. We welcome both infants being raised by baptized parents and adults who have come to know Jesus to step into the waters of baptism.
Furthermore, we believe that those who have already been baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit do not need to be re-baptized when they join our community. Yet for many who were baptized as children or infants, there often comes a time when they want to declare publicly that their baptism was real—more real than they ever imagined at the time. For these, we joyfully enter into the baptismal ritual again—not to repeat what was already done, but to mark a new season of life and affirm the enduring power of Christ’s salvation.
