The Master’s Hand

The Master’s Hand is a ministry team formed from the Valley Chapel Church to help serve and meet needs identified in our church family and our neighboring communities. Our goal is to comply with directions from God to minister to the needs of the disenfranchised, widows, children and the “least of these.” The Bible is rife with instruction for the followers of God to help those unable to help themselves. Continuing with this thought, Jesus extends this teaching to include the “least of these” as well as our “neighbor-universal.” Additionally, as the church began taking its first steps, in the Book of Acts, we find that her living in community where all the needs are met and none go without. (See below for a sampling of scriptures supporting these thoughts.)

Deut. 10:17-18; Ex. 22:21-22; Psalm 68:5; Psalm 82:3-4; Psalm 146:9; Acts 2:44-47; Acts 6:1-6; James 1:27; Matt.25:34-45

Our hope is to invite you to share your skills, talents, gifts, and experience with the church. We will take the information you provide and create a database of volunteers with specific skill sets that we can match with identified needs. When a need is identified and presented to the leadership, we will contact the persons best equipped to assist with the need and coordinate organization to complete the task. The areas we are attempting to cover are not restricted in nature.

The types of “need” and places to serve are not restricted to manual labor projects such as home repair, yard work, or other tasks such as these. The areas of service could be running errands, child or senior care, or simply visitation and companionship. Maybe a group effort community project is the need, such as adopting a street or lot for cleanup or simply let your imagination run as you ask God where He would have you serve and bless… We are certain opportunities will reveal themselves.

The critical need is your willingness to offer yourself and your time. Do you drive? Are you willing to sit with elderly person or run errands for them? Can you paint? Would you rake a yard…?

If you’d like to be a part of this ministry, let us know by sending us an email with the contact form here, or if you’d like, you can download our skills inventory list, fill it out, and bring it in on your next visit to the church (you can mail it in too if you prefer). You can download the form here.

Thank you and may God Bless your willingness to share in His work!
